In the northern part of the Bulgarian seacoast lies a small town of Balchik - a nice resort place, though not as famous as some greater Bulgarian resorts.
Balchik is located near the Romanian border. I guess one sees the Romanian shore when looking north.
And to the south in the distance, between mountains, lies a popular resort of Albena.
Above the beach there is a beautiful botanical garden designed in the first half of the twentieth century for the residence of Queen Marie of Romania (Balchik belonged to Romania then).
It's a unique combination of a modern beach and a terraced palace and park complex built in eclectic style with Occidental and Oriental elements.
